The 15 year old tryouts will be held on Saturday, March 27. Tryouts will be at the Concordia University Baseball Dome from 1:15p to 2:45p.

A tryout fee (payable to SCVBA) will be due at the time of tryout. This fee of $50 will be collected from players who have not yet paid a 2010 tryout fee.

The 2010 player tryout results are posted below. The head coach for each team will be contacting their players in about one week. SCVBA would like to thank all of the parents and players for making these tryouts a successful event.

ATTENTION PARENTS & COACHES
Many players already know their coaches, teammates, and their tryout number, but not everyone. SCVBA is in the process of building a database to help us communicate with you. Coaches will be contacting players in about a week with information about the team and coming season. Practices generally start in April (weather permitting) and games start in early May. Tournament weekends are in the process of being selected by coaches now.

The St. Croix Valley Baseball Association (SCVBA) has experienced rapid growth in recent years.  Last year SCVBA fielded 19 teams in the 10 - 15 year old age groups.  All of our teams played in the Metro Baseball League providing Saint Croix Valley and Stillwater kids the most competitive and best challenges.  The SCVBA is a competitive traveling baseball association and is the only local association using outside evaluators as a cornerstone of its tryout process.  The ultimate goal is to field well balanced teams playing at each player’s ability.  The mission for SCVBA is to promote and to develop the growth of quality amateur baseball in the St. Croix Valley and Stillwater area. The organization promotes the principles of sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and respect for others.

A separate $50 non-refundable fee for tryouts is also required (payable to SCVBA).

Warm up and sign up sessions will be held at the St. Croix Valley Rec. Center on Monday, January 4th & on Friday, January 8th from 3:30 to 5:00 PM.   Registrations will begin at 3:00 PM.   Players can attend both warm up sessions.   Parents need to bring two checks, one for tryouts and one for team fees.  Once tryouts begin, no refunds will be made except to participants who are cut.   The SCVBA Board gives individual consideration to injured players unable to participate in tryouts.

Even if you missed the two warm up sessions, please sign up and attend the Tryouts at Concordia Baseball Center.

Concordia University Baseball Dome:  This year tryouts will be held at the new Concordia Baseball Center in Saint Paul. The facility is located on Hamline Ave just south of Hwy 94.   Concordia University was chosen to provide the best possible evaluation.  Parking is available in the east and south lots adjacent to the dome.  The dome is well lighted and temperatures are set for playing baseball.  Please plan to wear equipment and clothing appropriate for playing baseball.

Tryout Format:  Hitting, infield, and outfield skills will be measured.  Players who qualify as a result of tryouts will be placed on a SCVBA team for the 2010 season.  Team placements will be made and announced by February 15th.  All players must attend one session and all players are encouraged to attend all three tryouts sessions.
